The goal: give DRT Pix a clear, complete, well-lit person with enough breathing room for clean background replacement.
1. Leave about 2 head-heights above and below
Recommended framing
Leave roughly 2 head-heights of space above the person's head and about 2 head-heights below the feet.
This extra space gives DRT Pix more room to create a natural-looking final composition after the background is replaced.
Avoid
Framing so tightly that the hair, hands, costume, shoes, or feet are close to the edge of the preview.
2. Use the device edge as your frame
Remember
The live preview may run edge-to-edge. Do not expect a separate frame or border inside the screen.
Treat the outside edge of the phone, tablet, or monitor as the picture boundary.
3. Keep a little distance from the wall
Recommended
Position the subject about 5-6 feet from the wall.
This helps keep your lights from creating harsh, distracting shadows behind the subject.
4. Light from the front
Good
Use even front lighting so the face, hair, costume, arms, and legs are easy to distinguish.
Avoid
Strong backlighting or a bright window directly behind the subject.
5. Keep camera height natural
For most photos, position the camera around chest to eye level and keep it as straight as possible.
Avoid
Dramatically shooting down from above or sharply upward from near the floor.
6. Use a tripod + camera when possible
Best experience
A tripod and camera make it easier to keep the same height, distance, angle, and framing for every dancer.
Consistency is key.
7. Find the right distance
Too close
The person nearly fills the entire preview and there is not enough room above or below.
Just right
The full person is clearly visible with about 2 head-heights above the head and 2 below the feet.
Too far
The person looks very small and valuable image detail is lost.
